Resumen
El presente artículo es una revisión de la producción escrita, particularmente biografías e historiografía, sobre Servando Teresa de Mier, desde las primeras obras sobre su vida a inicios del siglo XIX hasta el sesquicentenario de su muerte en 1977. El objetivo es analizar la manera en que se ha representado al fraile y político y cómo han variado las valoraciones históricas sobre él a lo largo del tiempo, así como los motivos por los que se ha estudiado su vida en un lapso de casi 150 años. El artículo se conforma por una introducción, cuatro apartados en orden cronológico que agrupan a ciertas obras en función de sus horizontes histórico-culturales, fuentes e interpretaciones en torno a Mier, y conclusiones. Abstract
The present article is a review of written production, particularly biographies and historiography, about Servando Teresa de Mier, from his first works about his life at the beginning of the 19th century to his 1977 sevicennial death. The goal is to analyse how the fraternity and politics have been represented and how they have varied their historic values about them throughout time and how their lives have been studied within about 150 years. The article is formed by an introduction, four paragraphs in chronological order that group some works with their historical and cultural horizons, sources and interpretations about Mier and conclusions.
