Resumen
La Constitución de 1824 fue un pilar en la organización de México como una república federal, y José Miguel Guridi y Alcocer fue una de las figuras clave en su redacción. Originario de Tlaxcala, Guridi no solo tuvo un papel destacado en las Cortes de Cádiz y el Primer Congreso Constituyente de 1822, sino que también fue crucial en el Segundo Congreso Constituyente. Su habilidad para el debate y su profundo conocimiento de los principios jurídicos lo convirtieron en una voz influyente durante la creación de la Constitución. En este contexto, Guridi se distinguió por su defensa del federalismo y, especialmente, por su firme postura en la protección de la autonomía de Tlaxcala, asegurando que su estado natal mantuviera su estatus dentro de la nueva estructura política del país. Es por ello que el presente artículo ahondará, someramente, en la férrea defensa que hizo el prelado en pos de conservar a Tlaxcala como un estado independiente. Abstract
The 1824 Constitution was a pillar of Mexico's organization as a federal republic and José Miguel Guridi and Alcocer was one of the key figures in its drafting. Originally from Tlaxcala, Guridi had a leading role at the Cortes de Cadiz and the First Constituent Congress of 1822 but was also crucial at the Second Constituent Congress. His ability to debate and his profound knowledge of his legal principles have made him an influential voice during the creation of the Constitution. In this context, Guridi was distinguished by his defence of federalism and especially his firm posture in protecting Tlaxcala's autonomy, ensuring his native status remained within his new political architecture. That's why this article will briefly deepen the strict defense that the prelate did to preserve Tlaxcala as an independent state.
