Resumen
El presente trabajo tiene por objetivo analizar la razón y la forma en la que el Departamento de Caldas, Colombia, intentó regular la producción y el consumo de aguardiente casero y guarapo hervido en su jurisdicción. A partir del análisis de 50 expedientes de Rebaja de pena a los sentenciados por fraude a las rentas de licor en 1938 pretendo profundizar en el papel del cobro de impuestos a las bebidas alcohólicas en el proceso de construcción de la nación y de la región en Caldas, analizar el diseño y la aplicación de la normativa sobre justicia de rentas, y explicar la asociación del guarapo con la población indígena en el discurso judicial. Summary: The purpose of this paper is to analyze the reason and the way in which the Caldas’s Department, Colombia, tried to regulate the production and consumption of aguardiente and guarapo in its jurisdiction. Based on the analysis of 50 files of sentence reduction to those sentenced for liquor revenue fraud in 1938, I intend to delve into the role of alcoholic beverage taxation in the process of nation and regional building in Caldas, analyze the design and application of revenue justice regulations, and explain the association of guarapo

Abstract
The aim of this paper was to analyse the reason and how the Department of Caldas, Colombia, had been trying to regulate production and consumption of homemade and guarapo mackerel boiled in its jurisdiction. Following an analysis of 50 Rebeja's cases of imprisonment for those convicted of fraud of liquor income in 1938, I propose to deepen the role of tax collection for alcoholic beverages in the nation and region construction process in Caldas, to discuss the design and enforcement of income justice regulations and to explain the association of the guarapo with the indigenous population in judicial discourse. Summary: The purpose of this paper is to analyse the reason and the way in which the Caldas's Department, Colombia, tried to regulate the production and consumption of spirits and guarapo in its jurisdiction. Based on the analysis of 50 files of sentence reduction to those sentenced for liquor remedy fraud in 1938, I intend to delay into the role of alcoholic beverage taxation in the process of nation and regional building in Caldas, analyse the design and application of remedy justice regulations, and explain the association of guarapo
